If you are setting up a new business or company on the island you will need to first apply for name approval. This can be done via the companies’ registry website

Once you receive name approval you can either register the business name or set up a company.

If you want to register the business name and you are operating as a sole trader, you will need to complete form BN1 and return it with a £50 fee.

If you want to incorporate a company under the 1931 Companies Act you will need to complete a Form 1 and return with the company memorandum and articles of association. We recommend that these are prepared by a professional as they will need to be tailored to meet the needs of your company. The standard incorporation fee is £100 and the two hour service is £250.
