Committee meetings are held monthly - first Wednesday of each month at 08.00

 

PRIORITIES 2008/09

  • e-Gaming:  Review e-gaming organisational structure to ensure all working to common strategy, goals, targets and objectives
  • e-Money:  Introduce new e-money legislation to establish IoM as a leading location for reputable e-money providers
  • e-Business : Identify which new niche sectors IoM will  pro-actively attack in order to diversify the e-business offering
  • Recruit additional specialist business development resources with segment expertise to accelerate growth of new high quality inward investment
  • Produce annual GNP statistics which are aligned with the Economy 2014 sector definitions
  • Implement a simple graduate portal/database to allow IoM Govt funded graduates to be kept up to date on IoM developments and future job opportunities
  • ICT apprenticeships
  • Promotion of IT as an exciting career choice to children in secondary education
  • Work in partnership with ISD to help review, prioritise, test and communicate all e-Government developments targeted at the business community
  • Lobby Government to create one marketing and business development department for e-business
  • Introduction of volume-based discounts on electricity usage tariffs for large customers with usage above an agreed threshold
  • MEA cable to be managed in line with IoM Govt communications policy
