The Chamber of Commerce is urging all Island businesses to take part in a survey to gather data about the increasing pressures that employers and employees are facing.

The Island’s biggest business network has conducted economic surveys for several years to gather feedback from across all sectors of the economy, and from Chamber members and non-members. However, the latest Q2 2023 survey, says Chamber, is particularly important because it will provide a snapshot at a time when there is mounting evidence that businesses are facing very challenging times.

Click here to take part in the survey – it’s open until June 8th. All data is anonymised, so respondents can be reassured that their data and views are treated in the strictest confidence.

As well as core questions received from the British Chamber of Commerce (BCC), the Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce’s Quarterly Economic Survey also includes local thematic questions that aim to deepen the understanding of the economic landscape on the Island. This quarter’s survey includes questions relating to the Government’s economic strategy, and air links.

In addition to publishing the results to members and the Island’s news media, Isle of Man Chamber survey data is also fed into the BCC’s research BCC's Quarterly Economic Survey (the largest independent business survey in the UK). Isle of Man data is also submitted to the Isle of Man Treasury and Department for Enterprise.

Isle of Man Chamber CEO, Rebecca George, commented: “Our Q2 Economic Survey provides a valuable opportunity for businesses to have their voices heard, and provide data in a confidential environment that will be valuable to Chamber and to Government. The survey is quick and easy to complete, and is of the utmost importance. Its significance cannot be overstated because it plays a critical role in providing up to date information about the current economic climate, helps to identify trends, and collects vital data which can be used to inform decision-making. The survey is open to Chamber members and non-members – so the data collected will give us a mandate to voice concerns from across the business community. This will enable us to continue to engage effectively with Government and inform the decision-making process concerning the ongoing economic situation.”
