Love Tech is Chamber's Chosen Charity of Choice for 2022-2023. As the Island’s biggest business network we will be planning initiatives to provide further support for the charity. Today we learn more about their great work.

Date: Thursday 31 March 2022

Love Tech is an IOM registered charity run by a team of volunteers whom have vast experience working in or alongside the technology sector and a combined passion to increase the number of women choosing careers in STEM. Love Tech IOM was born from this collective drive to make a difference and have a positive impact on the Island and its economy.

We’re passionate about inspiring and empowering girls and young women to explore opportunities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and seek to achieve this through engagement with local schools and a via a variety of events and activities.

Our Mission

“To inspire and empower girls and young women to explore opportunities in STEM through events and mentorship on the Isle of Man.”

Our Objectives

Examples of recent initiatives

x1800 Children | x112 Books | x10 Schools

In 2021 we set out on our first Primary School initiative, attending school assemblies to talk about STEM and some of our incredible mentors working in the Isle of Man. Alongside this, we donated 112 STEM related books to 10 local primary schools and we’re incredibly proud that this initiative sparked interest and engagement amongst the primary school children that we met.

Our goal for 2022 is to cover a further 22 primary schools across the Island.

Love Tech has also been working closely with parents in the Isle of Man, offering a practical and in-depth training club which aims to support Mums to become more familiar, confident and excited about the use of technology in their personal, professional and parenting lives. Delivered over eight training sessions, the course content spanned a range of useful topics. We’re delighted to confirm that #TechMums will return in Sept 2022.

We’d also love to hear from any members of the local community who are working in STEM roles in the Isle of Man and who might be interested in becoming a Mentor.
