Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce has launched a new service to help businesses cope with the immediate and long-term impacts of COVID-19.
The Business Advisory Service (BAS) is free and open to all Isle of Man businesses, whether or not they are Chamber members. News about the launch was announced by Chamber CEO Rebecca George during an Isle of Man Government media briefing on April 19th. She said: “The Business Advisory Service is one of a range of initiatives Chamber has put in place to help the Island’s business community at this time of unprecedented challenges. We know a lot of businesses may need help providing the necessary information when applying for particular funding options, so BAS can provide expertise on that type of immediate concern as well as longer-term challenges.”
BAS is available via a user-friendly online platform which is sponsored Celton Manx. For details click here
The service utilizes Chamber’s 450 strong membership with experienced professionals in all sectors of the Island’s economy. Topics covered by BAS include (but are not limited to) tax, accountancy, HR, marketing, legal, operational support, entrepreneurial thinking, health and wellbeing, pensions and insurance. The service can also be useful for business people that just need moral support from more experienced peers within their sector – and if those needing help can’t find what they’re looking for on the platform, the Chamber team will do their best to find what they need.
Jessica Kitchin, who is spearheading the Business Advisory Service, commented: “Our smart system allows the mentee to either arrange a meeting with a mentor or simply ask a question via the platform, meaning help is easy to access and very timely. This is a fantastic opportunity to find what you and your business most need today, to emerge stronger from the current situation, and to use the power of the Island’s biggest business network to help your business recover and grow.”
