Northern Powerhouse Events - Supported by The Peel Group | March 2023

Our Northern Powerhouse event has attracted great interest from our neighbours in the North East & West which has resulted in us being able to offer an enhanced agenda for delegates.

We are delighted to announce that  Sir Tim Smit KBE (Co-Founder and Exec Chair of the Eden Project and also the Founder of the Lost Gardens of Heligan), David Morris MP & Professor Adam Beaumont (Founder and Chair of aql, Founder and Chair Northinvest, Chairman of Bluewave Communications, Non-Exec Chair of Eden Project Morecambe), will be joining Henri Murison (Chief Executive of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership) in our line-up of speakers.

Mr Murison, will share his experiences and insights on the benefits of working with the Northern Powerhouse and will be joined by IoM Chief Minister, who will outline the government’s commitment and plans for economic growth.

Sir Tim Smit KBE, is Executive Vice-Chair, and Co-founder of the award-winning Eden Project near St Austell in Cornwall and is behind the new Eden Project Morecambe, which has been awarded £50m in the second round of the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund.

Eden Project Morecambe will be a coastal eco-tourism attraction and sister site to the Eden Project in Cornwall, which is recognised as one of the most celebrated and innovative projects of recent times. The new project will create 300 high-quality green jobs and support over 1,000 additional new jobs in the region. This exciting new project, just a stone’s throw from our Island, has the potential to change the economics of the Island’s link with Morecambe. The possibilities are endless and we hope you can join us to explore the opportunities.

We are incredibly thrilled to be welcoming such an extensive line-up to the Island and believe this will cement further our understanding of the synergies and business opportunities there are between the IOM and the North East/West.
