Smart HR | Essential HR for Line Managers & Business Owners Development Programme | Feb 2023

We are happy to announce that our tried and trusted Essential HR for Line Managers development programme is now also available to the public and in particular smaller business owners. Our first public course starts on 28 February 2023 and is delivered over five consecutive Tuesdays from 9.00am to 1.00pm. 

Who is it for?

Anyone involved in managing people in any sector, team leaders, supervisors, line managers and small business owners. This is particularly good as part of an induction process for new hires, those promoted to or in a leadership role with no formal training, and HR staff to ensure they have covered all bases.

Briefly what do the 5 sessions over?

  1. Line Management Skills and Behaviour – the manager’s role and what makes a great manager, emotional intelligence, motivating and developing your team, and key management skills.
  2. The Employee Lifecycle – equal opportunities, recruitment and selection, managing induction and probation.
  3. Performance Management – setting standards and SMART objectives, managing performance problems, constructive feedback, and having difficult conversations.
  4. Managing Absence, Discipline, Grievances and Leavers – including disability and reasonable adjustments.
  5. Mental Health and Wellbeing - responsibilities, common conditions, intervention, managing your own stress and mental health, and promoting positive health in the workplace.
