Joshua Quinn
Joshua has been recruited following several years at another Island law firm. He studied at Durham University and the University of Law and went onto achieve a range of professional legal qualifications including the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and the Higher Rights of Audience Course (HRA). He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2015.
His legal career has seen him work for several large legal and professional services businesses, including UK-based solicitors, Knights, where he was Partner for five years. In 2017 he returned to the Island and was successfully called to the Manx Bar in 2020.
Speaking about his move, Joshua said: ‘DQ is a well-established law firm which is embedded in the Manx business community and I’m very excited to join a flourishing local business.
‘With a broad range of civil litigation and dispute resolution experience under my belt, in areas including commercial disputes, personal injury and employment law, I look forward to working to develop DQ’s excellent reputation for first-class delivery of tailored legal services alongside the wider Dispute Resolution department.’
Chris Jennings
Chris, meanwhile, has worked for various Trust and Corporate Service Providers across the Island and has experience within the private banking space.
‘I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked across a variety of risk, compliance, and compliance monitoring roles throughout my career and have a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw from and put to good use in the new role,’ he explained.
Chris, who recently attained an International Compliance Association (ICA) Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance, is looking forward to applying his recent learnings to a more advisory-focused role.
He continued: ‘The ICA qualification has given me a broader understanding of the regulatory environment and the specialist skills required to identify and manage key regulatory risks today and in the future.
‘I am thrilled to have joined a firm and a team with such a fantastic reputation and a culture that evidently fosters development while putting an emphasis on both excellence and integrity. I am excited to see what my future holds with a business that is going from strength to strength.’
Mark Dougherty, Managing Director, added: ‘We’re delighted to welcome Chris and Joshua to the DQ team. Their extensive skills and expertise will further strengthen our practice, ensuring we continue to be ideally placed to advise our clients on a full suite of legal and advisory matters.’
