Strix helps spread the cheer at Cancer fund-raising event | June 2021

Whilst the theme was wellies and brollies, the sun was shining on everyone gathered in Castletown on Friday 18 June for the launch event of the newly painted Pink Town Hall and multi-coloured aerial umbrella display.

Date: Wednesday 23 June 2021

From l to r: Castletown Commissioner then Emma Cox, Chloe Mylchreest, Siobhan Milnes, Raudres Wong and Caroline Perry from Strix, and organiser Karen Watterson.

Strix, whose birthplace is our ancient capital (then under the name of Castletown Thermostats) were one of the key sponsors of this event which helped to raise £20,000 in total. These funds all stay on the island to be used by Manx Breast Cancer Support Group and its sister charity Mannin Cancers Support Group to help support the patient experience of anyone suffering from this dreadful disease.

Members of the Strix HR and Finance teams helped out as marshals at the event, overseeing the safety of the numerous youngsters who enjoyed a splash about in the giant paddling pool provided for the afternoon.

Well done to everyone involved in organising such a special event for this worthy cause, and kudos to the Castletown Commissioners for their vision and support.
