Digital

Digital

Chaired by Shelley Langan-Newton the Digital Forum represents members across all sectors and meets on the last Wednesday of each month.

About the Forum

The Forum works closely with the Isle of Man Government and other industry associations to actively promote the digital sector whose importance as a key contributor to economic development and employment continues to grow.

A number of the Forum members also sit on other digital-related committees and keep the Forum updated on different initiatives, forming a cohesive unit.

Priorities and Objectives

  • To represent and educate Chamber members and the broader Manx digital sector (suppliers and users) on digital matters and encourage regular dialogue and collaboration between key stakeholders (businesses, government, Isle of Man residents).
  • To highlight and promote the importance of the Digital Sector to the Government, notably how it can help the Isle of Man compete on a world stage.
  • To seek to influence the Isle of Man Government to ensure the right environment (including, but not limited to, updated legislation and regulation and policy noting the pace of fast adoption is required) is in place to support the success and future development of the existing digital sector and to encourage new inward investment, supporting and challenging the Digital Agency where appropriate.
  • To lobby, educate and influence the Isle of Man Government on the latest digital skills requirements and to support initiatives to address the digital skills shortage from cradle to grave.
