Education Council | The Department is looking to appoint seven members to the Education Council | Jan 2025

The Education Council sits as an advisory body to the Department of Education, Sport and Culture.

Some of the key responsibilities of the Education Council are:

  • Discuss and advise the Department on any matter of educational policy
  • Discuss and inform the Department of its views concerning the needs of the statutory system of public education
  • Receive and consider any reports submitted to it by the Department

Members will sit on the Governing Bodies of one of the secondary schools and three or four primary school and may also contribute to other bodies such as:

  • Governing Body of University College Isle of Man
  • The Religious Education Advisory Committee
  • St Mary's Roman Catholic School Governors
  • St Thomas' Church of England School Governors

The Department is looking to appoint seven members to the Education Council.
