We are duly concerned about the circumstances of his departure and the potential repercussions that this may have for the data protection landscape on the Island as well as any possible future impact on the Island's adequacy ruling. If that is affected it would have both a negative impact on the ability of local businesses to transfer data off the Island, and also their ability to retain and attract new business. We eagerly await further announcements from the Information Commissioner's Office and/or the Isle of Man Government on his replacement and future plans for the department.
