Consultation on the introduction of fees and cost limits for Freedom of Information requests | March 2025

21 March 2025

The Isle of Man Government is consulting on the introduction of fees for Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

Chamber is preparing a response that highlights the need for greater proactive transparency — particularly around economic and procurement data that supports business decision-making.

We believe that publishing more business-relevant information by default would reduce the need for FOIs, lower Government admin costs, and strengthen local business confidence.

Members are encouraged to respond directly to the consultation and also share their views with Chamber to help shape a clear mandate.

Consultation closes 9 May 2025
