Isle Settle Events | South African music legends set to perform live on the Isle of Man | July 2024

12 July 08:00 PM

Mountain View Innovation Centre, Ramsey

Three of South Africa's most iconic musicians are set to perform live in an unplugged concert on Manx soil. Arno Carstens, Ard Matthews, and Ross Learmonth will be performing at the Mountain View Innovation Centre’s Studio on Friday, 12 July 2024, bringing music lovers of all nationalities together in an intimate evening of music and storytelling. The Isle of Man is the second stop on their world tour, and the second time ever that they’ve performed together.

This landmark event, "Legends Live – Arno, Ard, Ross," will see these much-loved artists share their greatest hits and latest releases, bringing a unique blend of rock and alternative influences to Manx audiences. Presented by Ramsey Crookall and organised by Isle Settle, the driving force behind the Isle of Man’s annual South African Festival, this concert is a rare opportunity for music lovers to experience the artistry and history of South African pop culture up close.

Says Joanna Crookall, CEO of Ramsey Crookall, "We are delighted and excited to bring three iconic South African artists of this calibre to the Isle of Man.”

About the artists

Arno Carstens: Gained fame as the lead vocalist for the rock band Springbok Nude Girls, a pivotal influence in South Africa's alternative rock scene during the 1990s. Arno's solo career has seen him blend rock, pop, and alternative influences, winning acclaim for his distinctive voice and poetic songwriting.

Ard Matthews: Best known as the frontman of Just Jinger, Ard has been at the forefront of South African rock since the late 1990s. Just Jinger's music, characterised by a mix of rock, alternative, and acoustic elements, has become a staple in South African music. Ard’s solo work continues to reflect his talent for heartfelt and emotive performances.

Ross Learmonth: As the former lead vocalist and guitarist of Prime Circle, Ross Learmonth has made a significant impact on the South African rock landscape. His solo career showcases his unique voice and songwriting abilities, blending elements of alternative rock, indie rock, and pop rock.

Organiser Vanessa Naudé of Isle Settle comments, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see these legendary musicians. This is only the second time ever that these much-loved artists have shared a stage, even in their own country. The evening will feature acoustic performances by Arno, Ard and Ross, allowing their voices and stories to take centre stage.”

In honour of Mandela Day on 18 July, ticketholders are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or toiletries for donation to the Isle of Man Foodbank.
