Victim Support Isle of Man & Domestic Abuse Conference | Sept 2024

11 September 2024 09:00 AM
Keyll Darree , Nobles Hospital Site
Due to the sponsorship from Douglas Rotary Club, Victim Support have been able to offer this as a free to attend conference and are so grateful to the Rotary Club for their support, and the Domestic Abuse Forum, in getting this event off the ground.
The purpose of the conference is:
- To raise awareness around Domestic Abuse and the work that is being undertaken on the island by both VSIOM and other agencies working together through the Domestic Abuse Forum in supporting victims. We are delighted that Natalie Collins, https://www.nataliecollins.info/mywork, who set up the “Own My Life” Programme which is delivered on island by Space4Action, will be one of our key note speakers on Day One. Natalie will share her own experiences of domestic abuse as well as all the work that she is doing. David Challen, https://www.davidchallen.com/ will be joining us for both days and will share all of his experiences and the work that he is now doing to raise awareness of Domestic Abuse
- To celebrate VSIOM’s 25th Anniversary on Day Two and provide an update on all that we hope to achieve in the next 25 years.
- To provide information about relevant pathways for support for all victims of crime including specifically Domestic Abuse. We will be joined by some of our clients who will be sharing their stories of how VSIOM have supported them
Victim Support would love for you to join us for both days but there is the option to join us for just either of the days. Due to limited numbers, please only sign up for what you can attend as we expect demand for places to be high. We also kindly ask that you limit the number of attendees from your organisation to just 2 please.

Victim Support know that this can be a very emotive and potentially triggering subject matter and there will be support and quiet spaces available on both days should you need a break from the main lecture room.
Lunch and light refreshments will be provided on both days, the charity will be in touch nearer the time for dietary requirements and with final details of the days.
