Motiv8 Road to Recovery Walk

Motiv8 Addiction Services’ Road to Recovery Walk will take place on Sunday 20 September 2026, bringing together people in recovery, families, friends, supporters, local businesses and members of the wider community to celebrate hope, recovery, resilience and the power of community.

The event is about much more than fundraising. It aims to highlight that recovery is possible and provide an opportunity for people from across the Island to come together, show their support and celebrate the journeys of those affected by addiction.

The inaugural Road to Recovery Walk took place last year and saw an incredible 100 people, along with six dogs, take part. Following the success of the first event, Motiv8 is hoping to make this year’s walk even bigger and create an even stronger community event.

Participants can choose between two routes: an 11-mile walk from Douglas to Peel, or a shorter 3-mile route from St Johns to Peel, making the event accessible to people with different levels of fitness and ability.

Local businesses and organisations are also being encouraged to get involved in a variety of ways. Businesses can enter a team, encourage staff to take part, support employees with sponsorship, sponsor the event, make a donation or simply share information about the walk with customers and colleagues.

Businesses can also show their support by turning up on the day and helping to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for everyone taking part.

The event provides an opportunity for businesses to demonstrate their commitment to community, wellbeing, inclusion and investing in people, while supporting the vital work carried out by Motiv8 Addiction Services across the Isle of Man.
