Chamber announces Board & Forum changes at AGM

News

Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) this week [May 6th] and announced a number of significant Board and Forum leadership changes.

The Chamber took the opportunity to formally recognise and thank those retiring from their roles, and to welcome new Board members who bring considerable experience to the organisation.

Retirements & departures

The AGM marked the retirement of two long-standing Board members.

  • Treasurer Lee Worsfold, who joined the Board 18 months ago and oversaw a significant period of financial strengthening, including the organisation's transition to a new financial management system. The Chamber's board and membership expressed their thanks for his contribution to its financial governance.
  • Stuart Colligon, who has served for six years and held the role of Company Secretary throughout his tenure. Stuart has been widely credited as a steady and supportive presence, particularly during the development of the Chamber's governance framework last summer.

Deb Byron also brings to a close her remarkable association with the Chamber stretching back to 2003 when she joined the ICT Committee, now the Digital Committee. She went on to Chair that committee in 2004, a role that carried Board membership at the time, before stepping down during a governance reorganisation before rejoining the Board in 2020. The AGM acknowledged her significant contribution to Chamber's governance, policies and procedures.

At Forum level, Jayne Kennell steps down as Health and Wellbeing Forum Lead, having played a central role in establishing Chamber's annual Workplace Wellbeing Conference. A new lead will be appointed in due course. Nick Gibbs also steps down as Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering Sector Lead, with Rob Arthurs taking on the role.

New Board appointments

Chamber is pleased to welcome two new Board members, Chris Corlett and Kelley Corlett, both of whom bring significant knowledge and experience to the organisation.

Chris is well known to the Chamber, having been involved for a number of years as Legislation Lead and more recently heading up the Election Taskforce. Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and experience spanning both the public and private sectors, with a strong understanding of the Island's economy and the issues that matter to Island businesses.

Kelley has been associated with Chamber for almost twenty years.  She was a member of the Employment & Skill Committee for seventeen years and more recently has been Chamber’s Skills Lead for the last three years. Kelley brings a wealth of knowledge in workforce development and skills policy, areas that sit at the heart of the Chamber's work to support a thriving Island economy.

Both Chris and Kelley join the board at an important time for the organisation, and Chamber looks forward to the contribution they will make in the months and years ahead.

Commenting on the changes, Chief Executive Rebecca George said: “Chamber is powered by members who give their time, their expertise, and their energy alongside demanding day jobs. Our Board members, Forum Leads, and volunteers are not just supporting Chamber. They are helping to shape the wider Island economy. They are creating opportunities, driving conversations, and supporting other businesses to grow. That contribution should never be underestimated. To everyone who has given their time to Chamber, both past and present, thank you. Your work makes a real difference.”
