Future of the Economy | A Coherent Narrative for Growth, Opportunity and Resilience

24 March 2026

We are pleased to share Chamber’s Future of the Economy paper, setting out a clear and unified direction for the Isle of Man’s economic future.

This work has been shaped through Gold Member roundtables, alongside input from forums, events and wider member engagement. It reflects the real experiences, challenges and opportunities identified by our members.

At the centre of the paper is a defined economic positioning:

In a world of uncertainty, the Isle of Man should establish itself as a trusted jurisdiction for knowledge, governance and assurance.

What the Paper Sets Out

  • The key challenges currently holding back growth

  • The Island’s genuine competitive strengths

  • Priority sectors for future development

  • A practical action framework for both Chamber and Government

Why This Matters

The Island is at a critical point.

Global competition is increasing. Technology is reshaping how value is created. Businesses, investors and talent are making decisions quickly.

This paper sets out how the Isle of Man can respond with clarity, confidence and pace. It focuses on where the Island can genuinely compete and lead.
